We had a king size deluxe Mountain View room. It was nice but I expected it to be a bit more luxurious for the price per night. However, the view was amazing. We were able to see the sun set every evening from our sitting area. Drinks were strong (a bit too strong for me). The food at Edison was average, nothing special. Our meals at both Vue 1913 and Sunset Terrace were excellent with the exception of an add on lobster tail at the Vue that was inedible due to a strong ammonia taste. I was disappointed there was no effort on their part to make it right. I paid $79.00 to add on the tail and could not eat it. The waiters response was he was sorry to hear that. ☹️

The hotel was sold out (12/29-30) so staffing was spread rather thin at checkout and in some of the dining areas. Because of the huge crowds we used the stairs quite often to avoid the long elevator waits. The stairwells are a little shabby compared to the rest of the hotel (obviously not a big deal, but carpet is worn, musty in spots, etc). Everything else was just perfect! Our concierge sent a bottle of champagne to us when he learned it was our anniversary.

The staff was exceptional. Dusty, the elevator operator was an absolute gem. Not only did she take the time to be personable but when my first set of keys did not work, she walked me personally to customer service to get it sorted. She saw me later that same day in the evening and knew my name and asked how my new keys were working. I will return soon mostly because she exudes what I feel that makes Grove Park a masterpiece. Great job Dusty!!!!!

Rooms were good size and clean. The windows also opened, which is so rare these days. The views from the restaurants were stunning, and the menus at the Edison had enough variety to satisfy all palates. We had to move our reservation due to time constraints, and they were very accommodating. They also were able to fulfill our request to sit outside, and we were treated to a fantastic sunset over the mountains.

Sean

Love the old architecture wish the elevator was more updated. The view is beautiful. The buffet was delicious Loved all the outside dining was beautiful with the terrace. There’s plenty of places to sit down and relax and have a drink
